Zeppara is a hamlet just one kilometre away from Ales, under whose jurisdiction it lies. It has about 200 inhabitants and most of its buildings are preserved in their traditional country style.

The hamlet is entirely surrounded by countryside and is part of a region that has lately been developed with the aim of attracting tourists looking for educational recreation. Many of the projects which have become operative are already attracting numerous tourists to the centre of Sardinia where famous sites such as the nuraghe of Barumini and the museum of Villanovaforru are located. Zeppara is only 20 minutes drive from these two poles of attraction.
Moreover, this region hosts the museum of the treasure from the cathedral of Ales, the museum of obsidian at Pau and the nuraghi route at Morgongiori. These two latter villages are only 5 kilometres away from Ales.
